Our History

Christ Episcopal Church in Delavan, Wisconsin was founded as a mission church in July, 1844 and has been a cornerstone of the community for over 180 years.

While Christ Church was founded in 1844 as a mission church, it became a full parish church in 1848. The congregation worshiped in a small building at Phoenix Park until 1877. Construction on the current Gothic Revival building began in 1878 and was dedicated in 1879 at 503 Walworth Avenue in Downtown Delavan.

The Gothic Revival building is a distinctive architectural landmark. After losing its bell tower spire in a fire in 1920, the church underwent significant interior and exterior restoration projects.
